Food, family and a recipe worth keeping.
Heidi and Scott have built a family and spent most of their working lives around food. From cafés, restaurants, retail and food manufacturing to family meals and early market mornings, making something good and sharing it with people has always been part of their life together. Nana Dunn + Co carries that same spirit into every jar.

Passed through the family.
Nana Dunn is Laura’s grandmother and Heidi’s Great Aunty Melba. Her pickled onion recipe dates back to 1935. She shared her pickled onions with friends and family for many years, then passed the recipe on to Laura and Heidi. Aged 98 in 2026, she was always on quality control from her home in Matamata.
Nana Dunn + Co was created in 2019 by cousins Laura and Heidi. Today it is owned and run by Heidi and her husband Scott, a chef by trade, from Papamoa. The original pickled onions carry Nana’s recipe. Other products have their own stories, including the curried onion chutney made from Scott’s recipe.
Pickled onions like they used to taste.
